Struggling with Health Issues? – A Conversation
A: So… what do you do when someone tells you that they are ill, or tells you that someone you both know is struggling with health issues or disease?
M: I pray for them.
A: You do! I thought you only made intentions. But, you pray, as well?
M: Yes, of course, we pray – although it's not the same kind of prayer that's commonly used today.
A: How so?
M: Well, instead of seeing anyone as being sick, we see them in their highest light; we see them as happy and healthy as they can possibly be. And we hold that vision in our mind, no matter what anyone else tells us about them, and no matter what they tell us about themselves.
A: Hmmm. That's a new concept for me. Why don't you just pray for them like everyone else does?
M: Because when most people pray, they're seeing themselves and others in a state of sickness or disease or discomfort. When they do that, they're reinforcing the sickness; they're often making it worse.
A: I don't understand. How can that be?
M: Like everything else we manifest in our lives, it all goes back to the fact that our thinking and our spoken words are the forerunners of the circumstances we're experiencing. First, comes our thought, then we speak it aloud, then the physical experience follows. It's the Law of Attraction and it always works that way.
A: So, let me guess. If we're thinking about being sick, or talking about being sick, then we're actually involved in the creation of our own sickness, yes?
M: Exactly! And it works the same way for others, too. When we think about them being sick and we tell others about them being sick, we make them sicker. We add to their pain and discomfort. Understand?
A: Almost. So, again, what are the mechanics of how it all works?
M: It works because our thoughts do not remain with us. Our thoughts reach much further than we presently imagine. When we think about someone else – whether it's a positive, helpful thought or a negative, harmful thought – that thought instantly spreads far and wide, across time and space, and is received by the person we're thinking about.
A: Now you lost me. How can that happen?
M: It happens because, on an unconscious level, we're all connected. In other words, we all share the same mind. Even though we're all taught, programmed and conditioned to believe otherwise, in truth we're not separate from one another. The mind that's in you is the same mind that's in me. We're just looking at our lives through different lenses, through different points of view.
A: So, what you're saying is: if we have a thought in our mind about someone else, then, on a very subtle, unconscious level, they'll have that same thought as well, and react to it accordingly.
M: That's correct, and that's why we need to be much more careful about our thoughts of sickness because sickness thoughts beget more sickness, just as wellness thoughts beget more wellness.
A: That makes perfect sense now. So what can I do to change the way I pray for my sick friends?
M: It's simple. Now, instead of seeing them sick and struggling, you can see them well and in perfect health.
A: OK! I can do that! But one more question, please. Back to where we started this conversation: what if someone else is telling me about their health challenges, or someone else's health issues? How do I handle it?
M: You can learn to hold still. You don't react outwardly at all, not even with a nod of your head, because if you react, you'll be adding to their sickness. You see, my friend, commiseration doesn't work. It only makes things worse for everyone. What truly works is to hold the vision of the other person in perfect wellness, regardless what anyone tells you to the contrary. When you're able to withhold your commiserative reactions, then you can go into your proverbial closet and pray for them by envisioning them at their very best: happy, healthy and living their life to the fullest.

The Scarcity and Hard Times Antidote
How many times have you heard someone say, “Times are hard”? And how many times did you buy into it? It's in our Highest Good to be aware of how we react in these situations because whenever we believe in hard times, we're creating them for ourselves. At our core, we're unlimited beings capable of thinking anything and, therefore, creating anything. Why, then, would we ever want to agree with anyone else that times are hard? Times are only hard for us when we believe they are. If we choose to believe and behave as if times are hard, then that is what we'll experience. However, when we stand strong in our belief that times are good, then that is what we'll be creating for ourselves. Either way, it's what we believe, in the sanctity of our own mind, that gives rise to our daily experiences.
Fortunately, whatever is going on out in the world need not affect how we think, unless we allow it to do so. It matters not if someone else wants to hold onto their “hard times” attitude. As the light-workers of our time, it's up to us to hold strong and firm to ideals that serve us, ideals that are positive, uplifting, all-inclusive, helpful, caring, light-filled, expansive, abundant, and loving (to name a few.) Resistances and limited thinking do not serve us; in fact, they keep us stuck in poverty, forever riding on the scarcity merry-go-round.
Though you have asked for that which you desired,
there is so much more that is awaiting to be given to you.

Pizza
Here's a delicious story that was so well received that we printed it in both The Intenders Handbook as well as our first adventure novel, The Intenders of the Highest GoodThey all laughed, and Philip resumed the conversation.
“I'll give you another example, Liz.
“Suppose you go into a pizza parlor and order your pizza at the counter. They give you a cold drink, point you toward a red-colored table, and tell you that your pizza will be ready in twenty minutes.
“You go sit down and wait. While you're waiting, you do not ponder and worry about whether they'll get the pizza right. You've ordered mushrooms, bell peppers and extra cheese. You don't concern yourself with the possibility that maybe they'll accidentally put on some black olives or onions. You don't worry that they might burn the crust, or, worse yet, put on some of those nasty anchovies that make you so sick to your stomach. You just trust that the lady who took your order will make sure it's correct. If there is some problem, the pizza lady will take it back and have it fixed according to your exact instructions. The pizza place wants you to be happy. They're not out to get you. They want you to keep coming back for more.
“Likewise, the Universe desires to be our friend. It is we who sit and dwell on anchovies and burnt crust. We bring these undesired things to ourselves. Remember, we said that what we think creates our experiences. And so, if we worry about worst-case scenarios, those things tend to come to us. It is not a wise idea to draw unhappy, stressful experiences into our lives, but that is surely what we do when we get to worrying about things.
“If we concentrate our thoughts on problems, that's what we'll get. Or, if we concentrate our thoughts on beneficence, that's what we'll get. Whatever it is that we concentrate our thoughts on, that's what we'll get.
“So, we can change our attitudes. Instead of envisioning burnt crust and anchovies, we can think of the best pizza we ever tasted while we wait.
“Sounds good, doesn't it?”
